Today we’re styling crochet in six different fun ways!
Recently I teamed up with Benji and Frankie’s Shop to bring you a handful of fun different sewing and crochet creations. Previously we’ve talked about the three things I created for her, you can check those posts out here:

Today I want to show you the pieces she made for me and how you can style these or similar crochet pieces to fit with your everyday outfits.

Now let’s get into styling these crochet pieces!
Note: Details about the pieces worn in each outfit are below. In some cases where pieces were out of stock, I’ve linked to a similar option when available. Often these pieces have been in my closet for years and/or were thrifted, so info may not be available.

Styling Crochet
Crochet pieces can make a great statement or base piece in your wardrobe. From simple neutral sweaters and scarves to bright and bold pieces. The selection is endless! Style your crochet items up or down to bring your outfits to life in numerous fun ways!
I could put together so many more crochet/knit outfits for you – let me know if that’s something you want! – but for today we’ll focus on two pieces specifically made for me by Benji and Frankie’s. If you want to get similar pieces, head on over to her shop and put in your special requests!
Now let’s get into styling crochet!
Outfit #One
Starting off bold – stripes and checkerboard print.
Never be afraid to combine a few patterns. Especially if one of those patterns is a neutral tone or simple black and white. Break it up a little with a solid-colored jean jacket, some plain boots, and a cute hairstyle.
If you’re looking to add extra warmth, this checkered vest is so easy to add layers under! Try adding a solid black turtle neck to blend into the background and even a heavier jacket! Pair these with some chunky boots, a cute hairstyle, and simple makeup.
Fit Details:
- Pants were bought at the Indian Market
- Jean Jacket was purchased from a local store in Perú
- Shoes – I’ve linked to something similar, they don’t appear to carry the same model anymore.
Outfit #Two
Choosing to stick to a general color theme, in this case, black and white, then adding in a splash of bright color is a great way to pull together an outfit! Styling crochet with bright fun colors makes for a great office look or even just a cute going-out look.
What other colors would you wear with this outfit? I could see a pastel yellow or blue being a great addition!
Fit Details:
- Shoes – I’ve linked to something similar, they don’t appear to carry the same model anymore.
- Pants and blouse were both bought in Perú
Outfit #Three
This look is so simple to put together and so cute to wear out on the weekend for girl’s night or even to give your everyday look just a little extra edge.
Pair your crochet vest with a sheer, lacey long-sleeve, some blue jeans, a statement earring, and some simple shoes.
Need some extra warmth? Add a leather jacket and beanie!
To complete the look, I’d pair this with a sparkly Rocknot strap and a black fanny pack.
Fit Details:
- Blouse
- Jeans were purchased in Gamarra from a local Peruvian store
- Shoes – I’ve linked to something similar, they don’t appear to carry the same model anymore.
Outfit #Four
For a fun casual look, pair your crochet vest with a plain tee or white button-up and some denim overalls.
When styling a simple crochet look, you can totally bring in some fun crochet accessories! Maybe a bright crochet purse, a beanie, a headband, or crochet earrings would be great options too!
Fit Details:
- Overalls – I’ve linked to something similar as I bought mine about six or so years ago.
- Shoes – I’ve linked to something similar, they don’t appear to carry the same model anymore.
Outfit #Five
Keeping the fun alive with the orange-shaped purse, swap out the denim overall for a denim jacket. Pair this look with an oversized white button-up and a denim skirt.
For extra warmth – add tights and an extra layer under the button-up shirt!
Fit Details:
- Skirt – I’ve linked to a similar one, mine is from a few years ago.
- Jean Jacket was purchased from a local store in Perú
- Shoes – I’ve linked to something similar, they don’t appear to carry the same model anymore.
Outfit #Six
Because this crochet vest is black and white it’s so easy to pair with bright colors. Adding a simple t-shirt dress underneath, or even a longer, more flowy dress is the perfect combination!
If you prefer a less bright look, a flowy white dress would be so cute under this vest!
Take this outfit on your next picnic date or galavanting through a flower field.
