Elisha
You can find me sitting on a cluttered bed in the middle of Perú.
I’m currently munching on popcorn and chitchatting with my niece about the joys of sweet popcorn versus salty popcorn.
“Ah, si? Enserio?!”
–Literally me during most of my conversations with my niece.
Based on my limited Spanish, my understanding is that she prefers her popcorn with sugar and a little bit of orange juice. I said I prefer mine with salt. Y mi sleeping gattito? We don’t know, but the hypothesis is she prefers the sugar and orange juice popcorn.
“Esta riquisimo! Muy dulce… Ya, sabes?”
–My five year old niece.
i mean, yeah, i know. Obviously…
For the record–I swear she said she likes her popcorn with sugar and orange *something.* But when we (we being everyone who speaks perfect Spanish–but me) asked her to clarify this morning, she claimed to have no idea what I was talking about. So…I don’t know what to tell you…I’ve been duped by a five year old I guess…sigh.
My name is Elisha. I was born and raised on the West Coast of North America. With a passion for adventure and the heart of a dreamer, I’ve spent much of 2021 and 2022 moving to seven new “Homes,” both in North and South America. Currently, I call South America my home, where I happily pursue even the smallest of dreams with my husband and our cleverly disguised baby dinosaur, as we do everyday life here in Perú.
Doors and Floors
Doors and Floors was created with the intent of helping you create the life you want. However you want. Wherever you want. Without chronic pain limitations.
Essentially that means, you are free to dream and grow and roam in any imaginable way. And I want to push and encourage you to do that.
I believe that everyone has some “doors and floors” that make them who they are. That is, (Doors) interests and desires, and (Floors) foundational things that make up your life.
I share this thought because I want you and me to go conquer the world…It doesn’t have to be the whole world, just our own little worlds.
Just enough for us to say about our lives, “I am proud of who I am, where I am, and I have taken control of my life. I have built the life that makes me happy.” Or something like that.
And if at any point your life stops making you happy, change it. Because you control your life. You design it. You get to decide what the doors and floors are in your life.
That can be carpet for a comfy cozy life or something bold for all the adventures. Did my metaphor make sense at all?
I feel like I should be patting you on the back and sending you out to face the world with a sack lunch.
“Good luck! I believe in you and am so proud of you! You’ve got this! Go make yourself proud today!”
–I’ll say as I wave and you walk away to go create the doors and floors in your life that make you proud.
